Bio
Ajua Duker is a social psychology PhD candidate at Yale University whose research is primarily focused on the link between discrimination and health disparities. In her most recent work, she leverages the emotion regulation literature to test different emotion regulation strategies as interventions that might offset the deleterious affective outcomes that follow contending with past experiences of discrimination.
More specifically, she has examined how emotion regulation strategies (e.g., reappraisal strategies) impact women’s emotional reactivity when reliving experiences of discrimination across a variety of domains (e.g., sexism, racism). Ajua's work has been featured in prominent journals such as Nature Communications, Emotion, and Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin.
