Amy Gatto

Principal Advisor, Impact Measurement

Amy has significant experience in the field of monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL), offering a deep understanding of how people think and behave and how to conduct studies that provide invaluable insight into behavior and needs. She enjoys synthesizing complex data and presenting findings to cross-functional teams in compelling, meaningful, and actionable ways. Amy attentively leverages human-centered design and behavior change theories to ensure solutions are driven by deep empathy and thoughtful data and insights. She uses these results to drive towards forward-thinking programs and products. Amy is most energized when working collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders on solutions to their most pressing challenges.

Prior to joining Frontier, Amy built the measurement strategy and team at Active Minds, a national mental health non-profit, which mapped to a new theory of change and strategic plan. She spent substantial time in academia and higher education as a researcher and public health practitioner spearheading translational research on mental health to improve student academic and health outcomes. Her research has been published in the Journal of American College Health, Health Education & Behavior, Health Promotion Practice, and Psychiatry Research. Earlier in her career, Amy taught math in rural Mississippi as part of Teach For America, where she sought to instill her love of learning into her high school students.

Amy is a public health PhD candidate at the University of South Florida. She holds a Master of Public Health in Health Behavior from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a BA in Human Services with minors in business and public health from Elon University.

Frontier uses this assessment to identify our unique strengths and maximize our teamliness - how we collaborate effectively as cross-functional teams. We often pair colleagues with opposite strengths to turbocharge our creativity and impact.
